R&D Architects work under the direction of David Reddy, AIA, in close collaboration with Miguel San Miguel, AIA, and Yamari Perez. A collective of collaborative and talented individuals, the studio creates projects that meet client objectives, perform to functional criteria, integrate sustainable methods and systems, and create sequences of space and light that are delightful to occupy.

R&D guides clients through a cooperative process that begins by rigorously defining each client's goals and that culminates in built work. The process includes making plans, sections, and digital models through increasingly specific successive iterations. Although plans and sections form the basis of the group's architecture, there is always a working physical model that changes and develops through successive iterations These physical models are an extremely effective tool for the communication of design ideas and are fundamental to the work of the studio.

A rigorous process is applied through the development of media. This process, learned through years of experience at world renowned architecture practices, is effective for the design of projects of all kinds, types, and scales. R&D Architects, using the materials of construction, give expression to the functional, cultural and physical contexts unique to each client and project.

Since its founding in 2003, the studio has brought rigorous architectural invention to projects for
diverse clients. Often working with low budgets, the work consistently optimizes the possibilities latent in every design challenge.

The discrete elements that form each design adhere to a coherent aesthetic vision, rooted in basic architectural thinking, that choreographs sequences of space and light to transform and transcend function.
